Produced by the American National Standards Institute, this publication establishes safety standards for tree care operations such as pruning, trimming, repairing, maintaining, and removing trees in the United States. The purpose of this standard is to provide safety criteria for workers and the public. It is also intended as an aid to federal, state, and municipal authorities in drafting regulations and may be adopted in whole or in part. The latest 1998 version of the Grades and Standards for Nursery Stock, passed by the Florida Legislature in 1955 and codified with Section 581.031 (2)(3), Florida Statutes, establishes a vehicle for buyer and seller communication.
